Thomas Mair was yesterday found guilty of the murder of Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox. Mrs Cox died after being shot and stabbed in Birstall near Leeds on June 16. Following a hearing at the Old Bailey in London, Mair, aged 53, was also found guilty of grievous bodily harm, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of an offensive weapon. Police Renew Appeal For Information On PC Beshenivsky Murder Suspect

Police investigating the murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky have renewed their appeal for information on the eleventh anniversary of her death. Detective Superintendent Simon Atkinson, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team is appealing for information about Piran Dhitta Khan, who officers want to trace in connection with the inquiry. PC Beshenivsky was fatally shot while attending a report of an armed robbery in Morley Street today in Bradford in 2005.
