Work on expanding Bradford’s premier bazaar is set to be completed by the end of November creating a further 100 jobs.
The expansion was given a civic kick-start at a ceremony last month attended by the Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Geoff Reid. Other guests included Madan Showam of Sonic Direct and the Deputy Lord Lietenant of West Yorkshire Balbir Singh Panesar.
Mr Maharaja tells Urban Echo, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Bradford Council for granting permission for our much needed extension. This is also fantastic news for Bradford after the opening of the Broadway Shopping Centre and other developments taking place in the city.
“Bradford Bazaar’s extension will create over 100 new jobs and as a proud Bradfordian, I am excited with the new lease of life the city is enjoying at the moment. Our Bazaar attracts customers from all over the country and once customers arrive in Bradford, they love the city and the people.
Asked about what else the Bradford Bazaar offers and what makes it unique compared to other bazaars, Mr Maharaja states: “We have a very friendly and homely atmosphere and the stalls we have, cater for customers from all walks of life. The popularity of the Bazaar meant that the extension was very much needed to cater for the demands of the both the businesses and customers.
“We also provide freshly cooked meals all day that are prepared within the Bazaar as well as regular live entertainment and activities for children. We want our customers to enjoy the experience where the entire family can come out a make a day out of the visit.”
