Bradford – People wanting to build a career working in museums or galleries can apply for two new internship roles with Bradford Council.
The two part-time paid posts, funded by Arts Council England, are within the authority’s Museums and Galleries department and are for six months.
One post is as Personal Assistant to the Museums Manager. This would mainly be administrative work and would include taking and making phone calls; co-ordinating the Museums Manager’s diary; managing information; report writing and minute-taking.
The other post is a Community Music Events Internship. The role would be to support the work of the Community Engagement Team to assist with planning, co-ordination and delivery of a new community music programme at Cliffe Castle Museum in spring 2016.
The deadline for applications for both posts is Monday, 16 November.
Cllr Susan Hinchcliffe, Executive Member for Education, Skills and Culture, said: “I’m really pleased that, through working with the Arts Council, we’ve been able to make these excellent opportunities available. It’s ideal for someone wanting to forge a career in museums, galleries or the arts. Working with our teams will give our interns a valuable insight into how things work behind the scenes and support any future job or training applications.”
