The Bradford Flood Appeal is launched, raising over £10,000 in a few hours. People’s lives have been severely disrupted by the flooding around the Bradford District but these generous responses will help them return to normality.
Dave Forrest, Manager of the Bradford District Community Foundation which is hosting the appeal, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of people supporting this appeal. We know that there are hundreds of households affected by flooding and this money will all go to supporting them get back on their feet.”
He has thanked everyone who has made a donation of any amount, stressing that “it will all make a difference”.
The Bradford District Community Fund (BDCF) is a registered charity that raises money and then distributes it, in the form of grants, to local community projects and charities throughout the Bradford District. The Fund supports a wide range of community projects – supporting the young and the old and all ages in between; providing funding for ongoing activities, one-off projects or special events.
Community Fund staff and volunteers are already booked to speak about the appeal in schools, at community events, functions and faith based activities in Mosques, Churches and Temples and are available to support the work of the appeal.
