Acclaimed Hollywood actor Bill Nighy was spotted in York last month as he was in the region to shoot his latest movie Triple World Score.
The popular British actor, who has appeared in blockbusters such as Love Actually, Hot Fuzz and Still Crazy as well as appearing in over 130 movies since his debut in 1976, made a surprise visit to the recently opened FortyFive Vinyl Café.
Staff were left stunned when Mr Nighy, 67, walked in to order their popular coffee last month. He enjoyed the coffee so much that he started visiting the café every Saturday and became a regular customer.
Steven McNichol, who co-owns the café as well as Se7en Services in York, told Urban Echo: “It was a real surprise to us. It’s not every day that a Hollywood actor walks into your café. We do have many tourists visiting us but this particular tourist was special.
“Bill is in York to shoot his new film and he is now our new Saturday regular as that is the only day he has off. He really likes our place and the coffee we serve and has told us he will visit us every Saturday until shooting is complete. The other day he was in our café for five hours. What a lovely chap.”
