The event was organised as an opportunity for women to celebrate Eid after the month of Ramadan, where fasting was longer than previous years due to the Summer Solstice. It was attended by 150 women and provided an opportunity for women to come together, to enjoy an evening of entertainment and culture.
The evening started off with food and drinks provided courtesy of My Lahore. One member of the audience said, “We thoroughly enjoyed a spectacularly high class event for ladies hosted with absolutely exquisite finesse and beauty.”
At the start of the event a successful fundraiser was held for the Women Led Mosque project. Further information on this project can be found at https://www.womenledmosque.co.uk/
Bana Gora , CEO of Muslim Women’s Council says, “First and foremost we would like to thank our supporters for this event, My Lahore and Mercure Bradford.
“The purpose for holding this event was to provide an environment for women to come together and celebrate Eid, after a testing month of fasting and to kick off the first in a series of events aimed at raising funds for the Women Led Mosque”.
