Kirklees Council moves one step closer to introducing the Living Wage

Kirklees – Kirklees Council cabinet have agreed to refer a report introducing the living wage to a full council meeting in March before taking it to Personnel Committee for final agreement.  The Budget Council last week agreed to put aside funding to implement the change. The living wage, which would pay £7.88 per hour will mean a wage increase for the just over 2,000 people working in the council. Kirklees Council reach final in National ‘GO’ Awards – shortlisted for Carers Count

Kirklees Council have achieved finalist status in the GO Small Business / Third Sector Engagement Initiative of the Year Award. The awards recognise excellence in buying and providing public services and the Council’s Commissioning and Health Partnerships team won finalist status due to the innovative way it worked with the Third Sector when commissioning Carers Count and the success Carers Count has achieved supporting unpaid carers.
